Feeling the need to communicate with God and to sing praises, a dozen or so people met on the beach on a Sunday evening in 1910 after the train had departed. This was the beginning of the church in Beach Haven Terrace.

Mission: “Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

 

“Where strangers become friends, and friends become family.”

Serving Methodism for over 121 years

Burned to the ground in 1932, the church was rebuilt in the height of the Great Depression of 1932-1933.

Mission: Develop and nurture a church family that will minister to the needs of the people through the words and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Two Methodist Churches are situated on Long Beach Island, New Jersey:

 Terrace First United located in the heart of Beach Haven Terrace;

and Kynett United, in the heart of Beach Haven.

Text Box: Save the dates: The Hispanic Services will be recommencing at Kynett on Monday evenings at 7:00. The first four services are scheduled for April 8 and 22 and May 6 and 20. Please come join us and meet your Hispanic neighbors Vacation Bible School will be held at Kynett on the last weekend of July. Call the church office for details: 609-492-0421 Summer Sunday School will be held at the Terrace Church, beginning Sunday, June 2nd, same time as the church service—9:00 a.m. Adult Sunday School Class follows the Sunday Service at 10:15 a.m. 0on the second floor. Annual Scottish Fish Dinner— Friday, August 9th, 5:00 through 7:00 p.m. at the Terrace Church $15.00 adult— Call church office 609-492-9843 to reserve or pick up tickets following the Sunday church service. October 13th— Annual Roast Pork Dinner at the Terrace Church— 4:30 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. Roast pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, gravy, string beans, rolls, applesauce, homemade desserts, beverage. $15.00 and $5.00 for child.
